to receive joint accreditation from the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA), the leading
professional body representing archaeologists working in the UK and overseas, and the
University Archaeology UK group (UAUK). Choosing an accredited degree is widely recognised as
the first step on a career path leading to professional status.

You will have the opportunity to undertake a five-week or optional 30-week work placement
and also may get to take part in excavations organised by our active team of archaeologists and
attend BU’s Field School, a large-scale real-site excavation where students have discovered
significant finds that have changed the way we view the past.

If you want to work in the feature film visual effects industry or associated areas, this is the
perfect course. You'll embrace the complete visual effects post-production pipeline and focus on
theory, principles and production of assets and shots. At BU, you will have access to specialist
facilities including a new green screen and motion capture studio, as well as animation
laboratories, equipped with industry-standard software.

During your course, you will the opportunity to make invaluable contacts before you graduate
through regular industry guest speakers and BU’s BFX Festival, featuring a fantastic line-up of
speakers, masterclasses, exhibitions, screenings and networking events.

If you’d like an exciting career in the fast-paced world of journalism then this is the course for
you. You will develop the skills needed to work in a multi-disciplinary media environment
including TV, radio, print and online journalism; produce news broadcasts in our professional TV
studios, design magazines, film TV news packages and interview members of the public as well
as guests on live radio, and take part in authentic news day activities in the community to reflect
real industry practice and publish news and features across our student platforms.

Exploring crime scene science, toxicology, chemistry, and molecular biology, this degree is
designed to be one of the most modern and relevant of its kind. It has been engineered to give
you an understanding of the theory and practice of forensic science.

You will be taught in contemporary lecture halls and state-of-the-art labs where you’ll use
cutting-edge equipment, and will take part in invaluable lab and fieldwork experience, including
mock crime scenes and a live-fire exercise.

Through research-inspired teaching, you’ll cover a range of subjects including social, biological,
developmental and cognitive psychology, and specialist topics, such as forensic, clinical, cyber,
consumer, educational psychology, and neuropsychology.

You will benefit from our collaborations with the mental health sector, the criminal justice
system, the educational system, industrial partners and local communities/charitable trusts. The
diversity of the topics will prepare you for any career, whether in psychology (such as in mental
health or forensic) or outside (such as HR, the police or management).

Entry Requirements

You can apply to study for a Bachelor’s degree from year one if you hold a High School Graduation Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, plus at least one of the following:

SAT tests are accepted only on courses which does not list required or relevant subjects. Minimum combined score varies between 1200 and 1300, according to the course applied for

ACT tests are accepted only on courses which does not list required or relevant subjects. Minimum combined score varies between 24 and 26, according to the course applied for

Advanced Placement tests - AP tests are required on courses which list required or relevant subjects. You will need 2 or 3 tests and the required score per subject will range between 3 and 5, depending on the course applied for.

Additional tests such as SAT or ACT will support your application. If you apply for a course which requires AP tests but are unable to take the tests, please contact the International Admissions Team on iat@bournemouth.ac.uk to discuss your options.

Some courses will require an art portfolio and/or interview.
