Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) BA Honours brings together three disciplines into one flexible degree. On our degree programme, you'll:

This flexible programme allows you to study two or three subjects from a broad range of disciplines, including politics, business, history, and languages. Accredited by RIBA and ARB, this three-year degree focuses on architectural design, sustainability, digital technologies, and spatial thinking. Studio-based learning is central, with regular design reviews and workshops supported by practicing architects. Graduates progress into further professional training or design-related roles.

This dynamic degree explores the science behind athletic performance, physical activity, and health. You'll study topics such as physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and sport psychology through lectures, lab work, and applied practical sessions. The programme design included input from the Chief Medical Officer at Newcastle United FC, ensuring strong links between academic learning and elite-level sport. Students benefit from access to modern facilities, including state-of-the-art labs and sports science suites, and opportunities to work with professional teams during placements or research.

Based in a coastal city with direct access to the Dove Marine Laboratory, Newcastle’s marine degrees offer extensive hands-on training in marine biology, oceanography, and environmental monitoring. Students participate in regular fieldwork along the North Sea coast and benefit from the use of the RV Princess Royal, the university’s 15-metre catamaran research vessel equipped with advanced sampling and sonar equipment. This allows undergraduates to gain real-world experience in marine surveying, data collection, and conservation practice—ideal preparation for careers in marine research, environmental consultancy, or policy.
