Our spiral curriculum facilitates learning at different speeds and in different styles. On this course, theory and practice go hand in hand.

As you explore different conditions, you’ll learn relevant anatomy, physiology, pathological, social and psychological factors as you develop diagnostic and management skills.

At the same time, you’ll take part in supervised practical work in safe and simulated environments, before moving into structured clinical placements at our partner NHS trusts.

As the course progresses, there will be opportunities to learn in a number of medical and surgical specialities, with placements in trusts with outstanding reputations in areas from oncology to ophthalmology.


Learn from nurturing lecturers who are active researchers in behavioural, clinical, cognitive, developmental, personality and social psychology, whose work is used by governments, health professionals and industry.

Take advantage of one of the only psychology degrees in the UK with a Professional Training placement scheme, where you’ll gain valuable work experience in a variety of industries, including healthcare, education, human resources and marketing.

Conduct your own experiments in our brain imaging suites, extended reality (XR) labs and other state-of-the-art psychology research facilities.

Select from a wide choice of British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited final-year modules where you will explore topics like neurodevelopmental disorders, mental health, forensic psychology, brain injury, sustainable behaviour and more.

Build your research skills throughout the course, as you learn about research methods related to core psychology subjects such as neuropsychology and cognitive psychology – a unique learning approach that has been commended by the British Psychological Society.


Study a hands-on curriculum, designed in collaboration with our partnership of veterinary practices and scientific research institutes, and learn to meet the diverse needs of companion, production, equine, laboratory animals, and exotic and wildlife species.

Access our multimillion-pound facilities, including our Veterinary Clinical Skills Centre and Veterinary Pathology Centre, to practise anaesthesia, catheterisation, dissection and more.

Spend your final year completing clinical intramural rotations (IMR) to develop an awareness of working as a veterinary professional in a clinical environment, under the supervision of qualified professionals.

Learn from academics who are registered veterinary practitioners and researchers, in addition to a multidisciplinary team of veterinary specialists from our partner organisations.

Get the academic requirements needed to register with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) to work as a veterinary surgeon once you’ve graduated.

Training to become an actor is an intensive process which requires curiosity, courage and commitment. At Guildford School of Acting (GSA), we’ll help you develop your imagination, range, skills and technique.

You’ll learn how to prepare for rehearsal, how to rehearse and how to use independent and proactive processes to achieve your best work possible for stage and screen.

You’ll take screen acting classes and complete film and radio projects that allow you to explore the processes needed in today’s recorded media.

You’ll attend classes and workshops with guest speakers to develop your professional network and employment opportunities.

As you come to the end of your course, you’ll complete your transition to professional performer with several public productions and an industry showcase for invited agents and industry guests.

University of Surrey Entry Requirements

If you are studying for American qualifications, you will need a suitable equivalent grade to apply for our undergraduate courses. We are able to consider a combination of any three test scores at the appropriate level (e.g. 2 APs and 1 SAT Subject Test). Honours and College level class content can also be reviewed on case-by-case basis by our Admissions Team.
